It is November 7th and somehow my last blog post was exactly two months ago to the day. Where does the time go? In this case, the answer is easy -- work, work, work. My current job is essentially to travel around the country and talk to people. Over the past few months I have been in seven states (not counting the many places where I spent hours exploring the local airport) and more cities than I care to list here. From Milledgeville, GA, to Storrs, CT, to Vallejo, CA...I have spent quality time in parts of the country that I previously barely knew existed.
At the start of my job, the idea of spending three months on the road sounded glamorous and exciting. New cities every day, swanky hotel rooms, and business dinners galore. I imagined spending my down time out on the road getting caught up on things -- from getting an article I have been working on for the past year published to regularly updating my blog. I envisioned myself working out daily and rarely spending a night sitting in my hotel room watching television when there was a cool new city to explore.
I would love to tell you that I was right on the money with all of those plans, but, of course, having started this blog post with a comment about how it has been two months since I last posted an update kind of gave away the ending of my story. Sure, I worked out a few times and I took many pictures that will later turn into blog posts, and I even had a bit of fun exploring some of the cool cities I visited, but the truth is -- traveling is simply exhausting.
So I write today to tell you that I am not dead. Nope. Just tired. And rarely in Texas. But there are still good things to come for this little blog of mine, so you better stay tuned.
